INTERACTIVE METHOD DEMO · FICTIONAL SITE

A page can look complete and still hide a route.

This demo audits a fictional school page. It compares the initial HTML with the rendered page, traces a parent’s route to sibling schedules, and turns the differences into reviewable actions.

This is a reproducible test fixture. It does not measure gaze, comprehension, search ranking, or crawler indexing.

Compare what is present.

The controls below illustrate the recorded difference in this fixture. Use the links to inspect the real pages and source.

The sibling route is absent from the initial response.

INITIAL HTML · index.html

The route needs another page.

The starting page has no sibling heading or link in its initial HTML. A parent can reach the schedule through the corrected example page, but the route is indirect.

02 / TASK ROUTE

Follow the parent’s question.

Scenario: a parent with multiple children wants to find and compare sibling schedules. These are possible link routes, not observed user behavior.

  1. Home page

JavaScript inserts the direct link after load.

A shorter route is a structural observation. Its effect on task success needs testing with representative readers.

03 / ACTION PLAN

Turn evidence into fixes.

These actions follow from the fixture’s observed differences. They are suggestions, not proof of improved comprehension or indexing.

01 · HIGH

Expose the sibling route in source HTML

Put the heading and link on the starting page before JavaScript runs. The corrected page demonstrates this.

02 · REVIEW

Keep page metadata stable

The script changes the description and canonical URL after render. Choose the intended values in the initial response and confirm them across views.

03 · TEST FIXTURE

Repair the missing destination

The fictional home page includes one link to an absent file solely to exercise link checking. A real site should remove or repair it.

REPRODUCE THE AUDIT

Inspect the full report locally.

The public walkthrough summarizes the fixture. The open runner generates the dated HTML report, JSON evidence, site graph, and parent journey from the same source files.
